My Film Work

From my university degree in Media Production at LJMU, I received plenty of experience in the film and media industry.

I was taught how to use professional camera equipment, audio and lighting. For the editing, I was taught from my degree to use professional software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Affects and Avid.

Production experience would be assigned to certain roles for group projects - this involved me being a location manager, producer, editor, costume artist and more.

Please feel free to look at a few of my university practical assignments, as well some done in my free time, below.

Thank you!

The Rescuers

My final production project for 3rd and final year at LJMU was something really special to work on.

I chose to do a short documentary on the importance of animal safety. Using the RSPCA as a main example, I did some research and came across Brookhouse Animal Sanctuary in Clun - owned by James Gomersall and Tina Harkin.

Watch how I got to follow and film their day-to-day life of looking after rescued animals at their farm home.

Lockdown POV

2020 was a hard year with a pandemic going on and no way of being able to get out and film. This is where my personal life came into filming and I used my free time to produce a short lockdown film.

These types of videos are a great addition to have if you're wanting something close to home or an everyday/POV film.

All footage was filmed on my Canon 1300D and edited on Adobe Premiere Pro.

Mercedes Car Meet Up 2020

A friend of mine was asked directly from Mercedez Warrington to film their 2020 car meet up (organised by Cheshire Car Meet) - to where I was thankful enough to go along with him to film on my camera for him to edit the final piece.

We were lucky enough to get beautiful shots of all the cars as well as working alongside Mercedez and Rebecca Sides (General Manager at the warrington brand at the time).

Feud

Beginning of my 2nd year in my degree, one of my modules was 'Media Drama' - myself and a few other people on my course were put together in a group and successfully earned a 1st for our project 'Feud'.

This was a short film assignment shot at Everyman Cinema in the Met Quarter building and at the Baltic Market all in Liverpool.

For this project I was given the role of location manager and costume design. I was confident with getting in touch with companies and capable of finding the right place for brilliant interior and exterior shots, as well as combining in a colourful costume design suited for the cast and filming environment.

LUSH

For my end of 1st year project at LJMU, myself and two other course friends were lucky enough to do a short documentary at the new (at the time) LUSH building in Liverpool.

The reason as to why we chose to do a university documentary project at LUSH was to show the importance of a brand that is highly against animal cruelty and produce beauty products that are 100% vegetarian, 85% vegan and completely handmade.

For this project I filmed with a Canon 1300D and a GoPro - editing software used was Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
